What is Cross-docking?
Cross-docking is a warehousing service that is offered in a time-sensitive manner to bring in and move inventory swiftly and quickly. Cross-docking omits the long-term storing part of the logistics process. This means that shipment is brought in from an incoming truck or vessel and passed off directly to an outgoing truck or vessel and only kept at our commercial warehouse for a maximum of 2 days. Cross-docking is usually done in one of two ways- the market for model method and the door-to-door method.

What is Container stuffing/destuffing?

Container stuffing is loading the designated goods into containers which are then transported to a warehouse distribution centre where it is further packed and delivered to the recipient or end-user.  It allows for maximum area and amount of space to be available for that given shipment. Hence the container is “stuffed” with the shipment of goods which will significantly reduce the expense of shipping and make room for more goods to be shipped across the entire warehouse and distribution centre at one given time.

Container de-stuffing is when every shipment for container stuffing has to be delivered to a warehouse distribution facility to have it “destuffed” so the goods are organized, packed, and sent for delivery for all distribution. It allows the warehouse distribution facility to track all incoming and outgoing goods, accurately and efficiently distribute the items, and aids in reducing the time it takes to process.
